Nashville’s Turnkey Generator Specialists
Why GenFellas?
Less is more. By intentionally keeping our shop small, we avoid the overhead expenses that our competitors have. This allows us to pass savings to our customers.
No Salesmen
Nothing against salesmen, but actual electricians should be showing up to quote generators.
No Subcontracting
Our team handles all work without subcontracting. Keep the middlemen out of your investment.
No Service Contracts
Servicing generators is a big part of our job, but we will never ask you to sign a recurring contract.
FAQs
-
Standby generators are permanently installed next to your house and automatically turn on when you lose power. Since they utilize your existing natural gas or propane, they don’t need to be refueled.
Portable generators do not turn on automatically, have small fuel tanks, are unsafe, extremely loud, and unreliable. Although they can be good tools, they shouldn’t be thought of as a home backup solution.

99% of our installs are 26kW (the largest air cooled model Generac makes).
Due to our shops low overhead expenses, we are (usually) able to offer 26kW generators for less than our competitors are quoting 24kW installs :)
For a full residential whole home backup, the average residence needs a 24-26kW generator.
We get calls all the time to service generators we didn’t install.
Most of the time, it’s due to an undersized generator that was jimmy-rigged using too many relays (smart management modules).
Installers will do this because they can increase their margin by selling you the smallest generator they can get away with.
The problem is the moment a relay goes out, your generator doesn’t work, and whatever the relay is tied to will also not work (A/C, heat, etc.).
An electrician should be coming to quote the install and recommend the generator size, not an untrained salesmen.

Although we only install Generac, we aren’t going to lie to you; a lot of good generators are on the market.
A reliable standby generator ultimately comes down to two things:
Having the generator installed properly
Keeping up with annual service

Every home is different. Many different factors dictate the cost; home size, gas type, service panel condition, home layout, etc. As of 2024, our average installs cost between $10,000 - $15,000

Every single year.
The biggest cause of generator failure is neglecting annual maintenance.
Most of our customers take advantage of our annual servicing.
